Ultrathin Cut-Off Wheels
This is a resinoid ultrathin cut-off wheel that combines exceptional sharpness, extreme thinness, and a beautifully finished cut surface.
Using I.G.W.’s proprietary manufacturing process, we produce ultrathin cut-off wheels with thicknesses ranging from 0.1 mm to 3.0 mm.
They offer outstanding thickness accuracy and excellent cutting sharpness, enabling highly efficient cutting operations.
Thanks to their ultrathin design, material loss of the workpiece is minimized, contributing to reduced cutting costs.
Despite their thinness, the wheels maintain strong rigidity, resist breakage, and deliver precise and robust performance in both wet and dry cutting applications.
To suit a wide range of processing requirements, we offer both conventional abrasives and super abrasives (SD / CBN).

How to choose abrasives, particle size, and bond strength
Proper selection of abrasive type, grain size, bond grade, and wheel dimensions is essential for ultrathin cut-off wheels.
By optimizing each of these factors, cutting accuracy and machining efficiency can be significantly improved.
Abrasive type is broadly classified into alumina-based and carbide-based abrasives and should be selected according to the application and workpiece material (Table 1).
Grain size indicates the size of the abrasive grains and should be selected based on cutting conditions and required surface finish (Table 2).
Bond grade represents the holding strength between the abrasive grains and the bonding agent (bond) and is expressed using alphabetical symbols.
In general, softer bond grades are suitable for harder materials, while harder bond grades are used for softer materials (Table 2).
Wheel dimensions, including outer diameter, thickness, and bore size, should be selected to match the machine specifications and cutting conditions.
At I.G.W., we support outer diameters up to 405 mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.1 mm to 3.0 mm (Table 3).
